The summer school on Control and Optimization ECOPT is an academic event organized by the Group on Mathematical Modeling and Analysis Valparaíso (AM2V) and the Research Center on Mathematical Modelling (MODEMAT), with the aim of promoting the development of the scientific areas of Optimization and Control in Latin America. This school targets advanced undergraduate and early graduate students, and aims to generate fruitful discussions on relevant topics of current interest in these areas of mathematics, which may lead to the identification of joint research topics to be developed within master’s and doctoral theses.

The first ECOPT was held in Quito, Ecuador in 2013 and the second version was held in the Chilean cities of Santiago and Valparaiso, between 9 and 19 December 2015. Along with the courses taught by researchers from Chile, Ecuador and France, there were several talks given by various international specialists.
