The Research Seminar is a weekly space that focuses on various areas of applied mathematics, with special emphasis on Mathematical Optimization and Modeling. The main objective is to share the research results of the Modemat and put the researchers of the Center in contact with academics from all over the world, in person or through virtual platforms. Organizer of the seminar: Sergio González Andrade. To subscribe to the Seminar mailing list or propose a talk in it, please write to: sergio.gonzalez@epn.edu.ec

Variational models for color image processing

Variational models for color image processing

By Dr. Thomas Batard. Centro de Investigación en Matemática - CIMAT, México

Seminar Date: 2022-12-15

In this talk, I will present some extensions of total variation-based variational models to color images. After a brief introduction on color imaging, I will describe some image restoration models for denoising and deblurring. In particular, I will present a recent approach involving neural networks. Finally, I will describe some non local models and their applications to the processing of image details and contrast.
